Our Gift Boxes
The (Secret) Symbolic Meaning Behind Every Item In Our Gift Boxes
Did you receive one of our boxes at your home and want to learn more about its contents? You’ve come to the right place.
Every item is carefully chosen and included for the purpose of (happily) getting the Gospel into people’s homes.
We give each box out as a completely free gift to symbolically demonstrate the completely free gift of salvation God offers each of us.
Our goal is for each box to be thought-provoking for nonbelievers and edifying/encouraging for believers. This way, we can meet every person wherever they are (1 Corinthians 9:22-23).
Below is a summary of our primary six gift box items. Sometimes there are more, but never less. To learn more about the contents, see below:
Introduction Letter
Our introduction pamphlet serves as a friendly “Hello” to recipients and provides information about Mission Save Montana, information about the Good News, and an explanation on why they received this free gift. It also includes a link to a curated selection of Christian resources to encourage spiritual reflection and growth. This serves as edification for Christian believers (1 Thessalonians 5:11 & Romans 15:2), and an exhortation to read the Gospel tract for nonbelievers (1 Timothy 4:13).
Gospel Tract
The most important component of our gift boxes is the Gospel tract. We use many different tracts as the Spirit leads us. The main purpose of our boxes is to get people to read this tract! This small booklet contains a clear and concise presentation of the Gospel message, explaining God’s love for humanity, our need for salvation, and the hope found in Jesus Christ. It offers readers the opportunity to respond to the invitation to faith and receive the gift of eternal life. (Romans 10:14; Mark 16:15)
Bottle Of Water
Not just for physical refreshment, the small bottle of water included in our gift boxes also symbolically represents the living water that Jesus offers to all who come to Him. Just as water sustains our bodies, Jesus sustains our souls and offers us eternal life. (John 4:13-14)
Our BRAND Sticker
The custom Mission Save Montana sticker serves as a further evangelism tool outside of the usual gift box. Our hope is that people will notice the uniquely designed sticker and come to our website from it, where they can then read about the Good News without even receiving a box directly (the very first link on our website is to our “How To Get Saved” page). The more people that use our stickers and place them on items that they take out into the public, the more people we can reach. By providing these stickers, we hope to help other Christians fulfill Mark 16:15 in a small but meaningful way.
Montana-Custom Bookmark
The custom bookmark included in our gift boxes is both practical and symbolic. It serves as a useful tool for marking pages in books or Bibles (helping us better study the Scriptures as commanded in Acts 17:11), while also reminding recipients of the beauty and uniqueness of the State of Montana. Which we hope will encourage thankfulness for God placing us in such a great state. Thankfulness is both a command, and a gift, from God (1 Thessalonians 5:16-18). So our desire is that through this particular item, we will help the recipient both draw closer to God in study and embrace a more thankful heart for the gift of location that God has given them.
The Box Itself
There are a few items related to the box itself that are symbolic in nature.
– First, our original/starter gift box is always white. This is because Christ’s sacrifice for us makes us “whiter than snow”, when we accept it. (Psalm 51:7 & Isaiah 1:18).
– Second, each gift box includes a single, random, hand-written scripture reference. We do this to personalize each box, to ensure the Spirit can work on each box as He sees fit. This is never automated because we believe even one seemingly small reference to God’s Word is powerful (Hebrews 4:12).
– Finally, each box is stamped with the three crosses of Calvary. These three crosses speak of the Gospel: One cross gives redemption, one cross repented, and the other cross rejected. This one image demonstrates the ultimate decision all mankind must make. [To learn more about the Three Crosses, see our article here]. We pray you will take up the cross of repentance, so you may hear these comforting words from Christ relating to you: Luke 23:43!
